
Anna Ryabenkaya
Soprano

Anna Ryabenkaya was born in Kaliningrad, Russia. In 2012, she won her first international competition at the music festival Music of Old Riga in Riga, Latvia. In 2014, she participated in a master class with Prof. Birgid Steinberger in Vienna, which inspired her to pursue classical vocal studies in Austria.
From 2016 to 2020, she completed both her Bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance and Vocal Pedagogy at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz, studying in the class of Prof. Katerina Beranova. In 2020, Anna began her Master's studies in Art Song and Oratorio at the Mozarteum University Salzburg. There, she studied in the art song class of Prof. Pauliina Tukiainen, the vocal class of Prof. Christoph Strehl, and the oratorio class of Prof. KS Andreas Schmidt.
From 2021 to 2023, she continued her Master's studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw) – in the art song class of Prof. Florian Boesch and the vocal class of Prof. KS Daniela Fally – and graduated with distinction.
Anna deepened her training through masterclasses with KS Thomas Hampson, Mitsuko Shirai, Kurt Widmer, Fenna Kügel-Seifried, Ulrike Sonntag, Ulrike Hofbauer, and Dorothea Wirtz. In both 2019 and 2023, she was selected to perform at the Seiji Ozawa Festival Matsumoto in Japan as part of the Lied-Duo Course led by Prof. Mitsuko Shirai. In 2024, she was a participant in the Rheinsberg Festival.
She has extensive experience in art song and sacred music, her concert appearances have taken her to venues including the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Brucknerhaus Linz, as well as to Venice, Padua, and Palermo. For her performance in the Sala Onu of the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, she was awarded the prestigious DonnAttiva Prize. She is currently a member of the Accademia Lirica at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo under the direction of Prof. Pietro Ballo.
